Cleanliness is the foundation of a good beard, so slacking on the proper hygiene routine can mean trouble for your beard goals. To ensure that your beard reaches its full potential, here’s what you need to know when it comes to beard hygiene.

Daily cleansing is a must

Going a day without washing your beard at least once is like going a day without showering. Germs and bacteria begin to build up on the surface of your beard, putting you at risk for acne and infection. Because your beard is so close to your mouth and nose, this is something you definitely want to avoid. It’s super easy for these germs to make their way into your body through these passages. You might become sick and write it off as just another flu spread by someone at the office or at home, not realizing that your very own beard houses the germs that got you sick in the first place!
